Artist Spotlight: Robin Douglas-Home

The ‘Sixties Set’ is a unique collection of personal photographs taken from the private, leather-bound albums of Robin Douglas-Home and curated by his son, Sholto. They reveal Robin to be a naturally gifted photographer who offers an intriguing insight into the behind-the-scenes life of some of the world’s most recognised 1960s’ celebrities.

Robin Douglas-Home was an iconic 1960s figure. His high-profile media presence was as much to do with his controversial romantic liaisons (from princesses to actresses) as his family connections (spanning Prime Ministers, playwrights, and the late Princess of Wales). As well as being a photographer, Robin was also a gifted pianist, novelist, and classical scholar at Eton College. Robin took photographs for fun, and mostly of his friends – but what extraordinary friends! His social circle ranged from British royalty to Hollywood ‘royalty’, and Robin had access to a celebrity world that no other photographer could dream of.

This incredible collection of intimate photographs is set to be exhibited in London, Spring 2018 with framed prints available for sale.
