Kirsty Mitchell Photography at Quaglino’s

Fine art photographer Kirsty Mitchell is exhibiting a selection of works from her Wonderland series at Quaglino’s restaurant in London until Wednesday 14 November. The other worldly photographs are of entirely real scenes, with all props and costumes handmade by Kirsty, who spent a decade as a fashion designer.

Fine Art Solutions’ team worked very closely with Kirsty; providing colour proofs, quality review & analysis, together with professional advise, before embarking on the finest quality, ‘Pearl’ photographic prints. Kirsty prepared photographic marketing materials, showing work ‘behind the scenes’ during prop creation and photo shoots. Fine Art Solutions provided these as portfolio prints for Quaglino’s September 2012 launch party.

The series has taken three years and was created in memory of Kirsty’s mother, an English teacher who died of cancer in 2008. Based on the faded memories and book illustrations of the fairy stories Kirsty’s mother read to her as a child, they also feature stunning natural surrounds, like fields of lavender or haunting woodland.

Quaglino’s bar manager Michal Zawerbny has been inspired by the works to create a new range of floral cocktails. You can choose two cocktails, such as Gossamer Wing (London dry gin infused with lavender, fresh apple, lime juice, gomme syrup and a dash of blue caracao) for £15. Don’t forget to check out the floral installations created by McQueen’s florist to accompany the exhibition.
